Songjiang photographer Li Hong has won an award at the 7th Chinese Art Golden Horse Award for her work depicting Yi-ethnic girls in Sichuan.
A member of the Shanghai Photographers’ Association, Li has exhibited more than 180 of her works in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Austria and Hong Kong and Taiwan regions in China.
The piece recognized this time was shot in December of 2016 at Daliangshan in Sichuan Province.
“I met the girls near a school in Daliangshan and I was touched by their clear eyes when I saw them,” Li said.
“They reminded me of the innocence of childhood, so I took the picture.”
The Chinese Art Golden Horse Award was founded in 2006 to honor the best Chinese artists at home and abroad.
This year the award ceremony was held in Malaysia, when 35 awards were presented to the winners among 546 Chinese participants from around the world.
