Songjiang’s first children’s care center was launched on Tuesday.
Set up in the suburban district’s social welfare house, it is a professional institute for children’s welfare. The 2,250-square-meter space can accommodate up to 100 children with various issues.
It has three sections – for raising and educating orphans, attending to autistic children and temporary care for children with household registration problems.
As autistic children require special attention, the center has linked up with a third-party, specially focusing on children with relevant development issues, to provide education consultancy.
A meeting was also held on the same day, which discussed issues pertaining to children facing different social difficulties, with policies to be unveiled later.
