Work to build the Songjiang Hi-tech Film City is under way with a committee set up recently to push forward the progress, the Shanghai cultural innovation industry department said last week.
A batch of projects is in the process of settling down in the area.
Huace Media, which signed a cooperation agreement with the Songjiang government earlier in April, is now looking into land planning and optimizing the infrastructure for its “Yangtze River Delta Film Center”.
Haopu Film Base is taking shape, with interior decoration currently on, while Chedun Film Base and Zhongshi Ruyi Film Base are in the second and first phase of construction, respectively.
During the Shanghai International Film Festival in June Songjiang launched a series of measures to promote local film industry development.
The measures include specifying the development keys and layout, supporting key film projects and talents as well as establishing special funds.
The film park in Songjiang highlights its differences from those in Jing’an and Putuo districts while thriving together with them in a coordinated way.
