Altogether 15 short films vying for the Golden Goblet were played at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts on Saturday. Some directors and producers were also present to share their experience and ideas during the film making.
The batch of films was from China, Mexico, Nepal and France, each telling a vivid story inspired by different cultural backgrounds or social or natural facts.
“Harvest”, for example, is a five-minute short film directed by Chinese director Sun Lijun and starring a grasshopper. It combines traditional Chinese ink wash painting with 3D and 8K imaging technologies to present a brand new visual effect.
