Shanghai Career Experience Day was held recently at Shanghai City Technology School in Songjiang, offering students an opportunity to know more about various occupations.
The activity had four sessions, including kart racing, automobile print, creative woodcraft and electronic carving. Students can make art pieces like wooden cup coasters or learn about auto parts under the guidance of their teachers.
“I like painting and I would like to be a painter for cars someday,” said a student after joining the activity.
A parent surnamed Tang said that such an event could help children to learn more about different kinds of careers and broaden their views.
The annual event is held by Shanghai Education Commission. More than 60 vocational schools are open to middle and primary school students for basic education.
