Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts in Songjiang held an art carnival last week on the campus open day to celebrate the New Year.
The event was held for the first time, covering 40 topics in painting, graphic design, industrial design, fashion design, performing and other art forms. Students in the institute acted as hosts, models and designers at the event.
They also painted the wall, organized a night run and gave an innovative fair and red carpet show to display their artworks in different fields.
The purpose of the carnival was to create an artistic atmosphere for these young artists, said Professor Lin Mingjie, planner of the event. It would also promote cooperation among different schools, so as to activate inspiration from more aspects and accumulate interactive experience with others and with society.
The exhibition of the carnival works opens to the public until the end of this month.
