Holidaymakers boost sales at district shopping malls



Songjiang saw a 9.52 percent year-on-year growth in sales, which totaled 260 million yuan (US$39.4 million), in the October 1-8 Golden Week holiday, celebrating both the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival, according to figures from 31 sample enterprises in the district. 

Sales in the district’s shopping malls amounted to 202 million yuan, up 4.9 percent.

Wanda Plaza and its neighboring commercial zone drew most consumers, followed by the Kaiyuan Med Shopping Mall, reaping 75.37 million yuan and 52.17 million yuan respectively in sales income.

Newly opened business centers had also attracted big crowds of visitors.
