Flower wall attracts people to local botanical garden

A Chinese rose species, dubbed “Angela”, is covering a 600-meter-long wall at Chenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang and is blooming with a vengeance this month, attracting many admirers.

The best time to view the flower wall is before the end of May, a botanist in the garden said.

This climbing species of Chinese rose has been widely used in China to create vertical gardens. Experts at the botanical garden have conducted experiments to improve its ability against pests and drought.
